Outreach Activity by Department of Chemistry Workshop on “Testing of Adulterants in Daily Food Items” at Farooka Khalsa Sr. Sec. School, Ambala Cantt. A workshop was organized by Department of Chemistry, G.M.N. College, Ambala Cantt. on “Testing of Adulterants in Daily Food Items” on 28 th August, 2019 at Farooka Khalsa Sr. Sec. School, Ambala Cantt. Dr. V. K. Bindal, Head of chemistry department and Dr. Neha Aggarwal, Assistant Professor along with team of 15 students of B.Sc. Non-medical II and III year conducted the workshop in the school. Dr. Agyapal Singh ji, principal, Farooka Khalsa Sr. Sec. School heartedly welcomed the team to his school. Almost 100 students of class XII of the school participated in the workshop. Dr. V. K. Bindal and Dr. Neha Aggarwal acquainted the students with the concept of adulteration and different adulterants being added nowadays in daily food items. College students gave practical demonstration of different chemical tests which can be performed to check adulteration in daily food items like milk, sugar, salt, red chili powder, turmeric etc. School students also participated in the workshop with great zeal and enthusiasm.
