Commerce and Management Department of GMN College Ambala Cantt organized one day Industrial Visit to TI Cycles of India, located in Sandharsi village, Rajpura. Students of B.Com 5th Sem and BBA 5th Sem visited the site on 22nd October 2019. Around 95 Students and Four Faculty Members named Dr. Surender Kundu, Dr. Bharti Vij, Dr. Amita and Ms. Priyanka were the participants. The visit was organized to enhance the practical knowledge of the students, to bring awareness of working in cycle plant, to know working role of a person in industry etc. TI Cycles of India is one of the leading bicycle manufacturers in India. The plant has been built with a capital expenditure of Rupees 105 Crores and has the capacity to manufacture 2.50 lakhs cycles per month. The plant is an environment-friendly factory with zero-discharge and 100% recycling of water. During Two Hour Session, the students got an opportunity to interact with Suraj Singh, Assistant Manager, HR, who gave the brief introduction about the industry and the core values on which the industry work. He told that TI Cycles focuses on five core values which include Teamwork, Openness and Trust, Integrity, Entrepreneurship and Citizenship behaviour. He addressed the students about the policies and procedures followed in TI Cycles for the recruitment, selection and training of the employees. Mr. Saurav Sharma, HR Officer told that the safety, health and welfare of employees is of prime importance for the organization. In order to motivate their employees, they have undertaken various activities such as free health checkups, blood donation camps, scholarship schemes for the wards of employees. In addition to the above, the industry provides gifts on various occasions such as Diwali, Birthday’s, New Year, etc. It was a learning experience for the students and teachers. All the students are very happy.
